Kasrkin Project-Part 1.5

Alright, this project has been at the back burner for a while, but I have decided to resurrect it a little bit. Lately, it being summer and all, I have had a lot of time on my hands, and I have been finishing up a test version of one of the Kasrkin troopers.

For starters, the hotshot lasgun, which I thought would be one of the hardest parts, will be made by shortening a lasgun, and adding a segment of one of the missiles from the heavy weapons sprew. The armor, as said in one of my previous posts, will be GSed to look slightly more protective than flak armor, and the helmets, also stated previously, will be from Pig Iron.

Now, I haven't ordered the Pig Iron stuff yet, so this model will remain headless:

FINALLY!

Well, after a long time of waiting, I have finally found a good deal on ebay, and have finally purchased them. The items I am referring to are the Forgeworld Vendetta Conversion Kits, which sell on Forgeworld for around $21 apiece, plus 15% shipping, and I have found them for $12 apiece, with only $5 of shipping, considering that they are coming from Russia, that's pretty cheap. The only catch is that they will arrive between July 25th and August 5th, which isn't too bad. But either way, once they come, I will finally be able to finish my Vendettas!

First Model-Painted

Alright, yesterday I spent around two and a half hours painting my first in my model-one of my Leman Russ Executioners. The color scheme I chose for my army was Mordian Blue, for the armor, and Space Wolves Grey for the fatigues.

So...here is the picture-I will post better pictures of different parts once I can find my camera.

I'm not entirely done-I still need to finish the part that is missing from the turret, and I also need to give it a wash of Devlin Mud, and I also need to finish the sponson and hull weapons, plus I'm not entirely sure I like the parts in Space Wolves Grey. Up next is either my other Executioner or one of my Vendettas.

EDIT: New Pics-no wash yet

Kasrkin Project-Part Uno

This weekend I decided to take on a project: to make my own Kasrkin models, mostly because the metal ones are just way too expensive.

So, basically, I am just going to use standard Cadian models, Green Stuff, Pig Iron heads (one of these two sets, I haven't decided yet),

and these Pig Iron weapons with lasgun barrels added to them

Today I started by testing some different ideas for some additional armor plates, to make the standard flak armor look like carapace
The next time I will update this project will be next weekend, when I will have my stuff from Pig Iron, and more importantly, the time to work on this more, I will get some pics up of some members of the squad when they are completed.

Portable Autocannon

Alright, here is this guy I've been working on. I had this part of an autocannon without a barrel, and then I thought of making the barrel shorter, and then having him hold and fire it. I realized that that wouldn't work very well, so I strapped it to his back
And then I greenstuffed a rope/cord-ish thing to make it look slightly more realistic
Now all I need to do is to add an arm holding the barrel, and another doing something else, and then have another Guardsman with the tripod, maybe, and ammunition. I will post those pics when I have it done.
